The Federalist Party, colloquially known as the Federalists, is a conservative political party in Cascadia.
The Federalist Party was formed in 1900 by William A. Smith. Since 1904, the Federalists has been in power almost continuously — only being out of power for relatively brief periods.
The Federalist Party is often described as a big tent conservative party. While lacking a cohesive political ideology, the party's platform has historically supported progressive, nationalist, and protectionist policies. The party's history and internal composition have been characterized by intense factionalism ever since the retirement of William Smith in 1916. The incumbent president Thomas Wilson is a member of the Federalists, and is the leader of the party's moderate faction.
