Nordmarken or as it is officially known the Monarchie Nordmarken is a nominally independent nation in northern Altaris which is joined in a Dual Monarchy with the Kingdom of Flattieland to form the Dual Monarchy of Normarken-Flattieland. Nordmarken is ruled by King Dieter I, who has been King since his coronation in 2007. Nordmarken is split into six states and it's capital, Mühlenstadt, lies in the south of the country near the border with Flattieland in Mittelland. Established in 1902, the first King of Nordmarken, Leonard I led the country into union with Flattieland in 1910 through the Marriage of Leonard and Karina. Nordmarken remained relatively stable until the Himmelsburg Revolution in 1946 by communist forces, led by Adi Pletscher. After three years of fighting, Adi Pletscher was captured in 1949 and the military of the revolutionaries failed to maintain cohesion.
