Flattieland officially Monarchie Flattieland is a technically independent nation east of Cascadia on the continent of Altaris which is joined in a political union, called Nordmarken-Flattieland, with the nation of Nordmarken, which lies to its direct south. Flattieland is ruled by Queen Christina II who has led the country for five months since her coronation on May 16, 2023. The country is named for it's relative flat topography in relation to the Alderhost Mountains which dominate the region of Nordmarken to the south. Flattieland has several large rivers running through it, including the Mühlenbach River on which the city of Mühlenstadt sits. Mülenstadt is home to one of the world's largest Hydro-Electric Dams with produces over 16,000 MW of energy and is a major energy producer in Nordmarken-Flattieland. Flattieland is the world leader in Wind and Hydroponic energy technology, which have become the country's main infrastructural projects since the 1980s.
