Strelitz are a Germanic ethnic group native to the southern and eastern regions of what is today Cascadia. They share a common ancestry, culture, history, and language with the modern Nordmarken people and Wattenmeeran people. They primarily live in Cascadia, with small communities present throughout the world.
Ethnic Strelitz are considered to be the descendants of the ancient Germanic peoples who first settled the southeastern areas of present-day Cascadia prior to and during the Müddecken Empire. The first Strelitz states rose after the collapse of the Müddeckens and developed along with the surrounding Wattenmeeran and Nordmarken states. Strelitz principalities played a major part of the German Confederation, and prospered during the middle ages. During the late middle ages, the Mercian colonies to the north began to expand and conquer Strelitz territory. Eventually, by the 1700s, most Strelitz territory was incorporated into the Mercian colonies, and then into the Federal Republic of Cascadia. Over time, the Strelitz gained an equal status within Cascadia, and much cultural osmosis occurred between the Cascadians and Strelitz.
