Christina II, officially styled Her Royal Majesty Queen Christina II Andrea Messner of the Kingdom of Flattieland, is the Queen of Flattieland and co-ruler of the Dual Monarchy of Nordmarken-Flattieland. Born in Mühlenstadt in 2002 as the eldest daughter of King Richard II, Christina became the youngest female monarch ever coronated in Flattelanden history in 2023 after the unexpected death of her father. Christina is a member of the Liberal Party of Flattieland and is know for her leftist political views, sentiment shared by her Prime Minister, Johann Meisner.
Early Life and Education
Christina was born in the city of Mühlenstadt on May 2, 2002, at 2:11 AM in the Royal Palace as the second child of Richard II and his wife Olivia Rot. Christina, and her older brother Theodor both studied in Mühlenstadt at Eberhard Vorbereitungsakademie (Eberhard High School) where she received high marks in all subjects. After attending Eberhard High School and graduating in 2020, Christina took a gap year before attending university. During this time Christina visited Nordmarken, Cascadia, and Wattenmeer and she became much more involved in politics after mostly being hidden from the public eye. She declared her public alignment with the Liberal Party, which caused some tension between Christina and Theodor, who was a vocal ally of the Conservative Party. However it was discovered that Theodor had a fast moving brain cancer which caused his to lose cognitive ability over the course of six months. On July 16, 2021, Theodor died in his bed, leaving Christina as the heir apparent to the throne of Flattieland. Christina returned from a month long voyage to Dargentia in early September, 2021, and enrolled into Eichen University with a major in Political Theory. Christina continued her studies until April 16, 2023, when unexpectedly her father, King Richard, died of a heart attack.
Reign
Immediately following Richard's death, the kingdom was in shock, and many allies of Flattieland voiced their condolences. King Dieter I of Nordmarken travelled to Mühlenstadt the day after the king's unexpected death and publicly announced his condolences for the Flattielanden people. On May 2, her birthday, Christina appeared before Parliament declaring her full readiness to rule Flattieland despite only being 21 years old. Christina's ascension was majorly opposed by Minister of Parliament Daniel Sorge, the leader of the Conservative party, who declared her "Unfit to rule" due to her lack of age. However Christina managed to gain the support of Prime Minister, Johann Meisner and the Liberal Party, which controlled the Parliament at the time. On May 12, Parliament voted 109-81 in favor of Christina, and she would be officially coronated on May 16 as the youngest female monarch in Flattielanden history. As her first act, she began a motion in Parliament to abolish the death penalty in Flattieland which eventually passed sweepingly on July 5. Christina began attending the University of Eichen part time in order to gain her degree, leaving most of the day to day operations to be run by PM Meisner. On August 1, she travelled to Eichen to meet with Dieter I to convene on the topic of Nordmarken-Flattieland's future. Christina has declared her full support of Kane Numbaka and the government of Xuka in the Sendeke War along which passing several civil aid bills for the countries of Voltaire and Xuka.
