Presidential elections were held in Central Exoña on 24 July 1985. Felipe Ureña Mori of the National Democratic Party (PDN) ran unopposed and won 99.45 percent of the vote. The 1985 election was the first presidential election since 1873 to allow multiple parties to participate; Alfonso Rodríguez Duarte of the Democratic Alliance Party (PAD) was Ureña Mori's vice president.
