Presidential elections were held in Central Exoña on 24 July 1990. Alfonso Rodríguez Duarte of the Democratic Alliance Party (PAD) won percent of the vote, defeating Felipe Castro Ramírez of the National Democratic Party (PDN). The election was the first since 1915 to be won by someone not from the PDN, and the first since 1873 to be competed by multiple candidates.
